Menopause and energy loss

In career counseling, women in their 50s or so often come by who struggle with a lack of energy, feel stuck and feel trapped in a golden cage, not knowing how to move forward.

It is well known that changes in energy levels occur during menopause. Thanks to recent insights from the book by Leen Steyaert "Radiant through the Menopause" one now better understands why this happens. In fact, hormonal fluctuations during menopause have a significant impact on your overall state of health and strongly influence how you feel.

Dealing with complaints

The unpleasant signs and symptoms you are experiencing are signals that your body is struggling to cope with the strong hormonal fluctuations that are typical at this stage of your life.

It is not the intention to list here a list of possible complaints, as every woman is different and unique. For the medical aspect, it is recommended to contact a general practitioner and/or gynecologist. They can provide the best advice and guidance based on each individual woman's specific situation.

What is a certainty: The stronger and more positive your self-image, the fewer symptoms you will have during your menopause.

By reflecting on the following questions, your self-image will become clearer:

  • What is my body trying to tell me right now?
  • What gifts and talents do I have? Which of these have I not yet used? How can I discover unsuspected talents?
  • What dream have I cherished for a long time and what do I absolutely still want to do in my life?
  • Which people with whom I now associate do I absolutely want to continue to see? Who would I rather say goodbye to?
  • Do I want to keep doing this work? Can I still make a successful career switch make another successful career switch? What steps should I take to do this?
  • How do I find more joy in my work?
  • How do I deal with stress in my life?
  • How can I better use my experience and wisdom in my work?
  • How do I keep having fun until retirement?
  • What does turning fifty mean to me?
  • What are the things that scare me in the future? How can I deal with them?

The influence of nutrition

In addition, nutrition does have a major impact on your mood. Healthy nutrition is the basis for mental balance. Nutritional deficiencies affect how your brain works: what you eat determines what you think and how you feel. So it is important to eat healthy, balanced and regular food as well as avoid refined sugars.

In addition to nutrition, energy exercises are important, such as yoga - qigong - taichi - meditation exercises - simple breathing exercises. Why. Energy exercises charge your body with energy and eliminate stagnations, they stimulate detoxification and cleansing, they strengthen your organs, they increase your inner strength and promote relaxation.

In career counseling, it is often experienced that by discovering what energizes them in their personal lives, women gradually regain a radiant radiance. This renewed sense of energy encourages them to also take professional steps toward greater job satisfaction, often with a dose of courage and determination.

This positive attitude toward yourself and toward life makes you more beautiful, not only to yourself but also to others. On to 100 years!

Do you like to make time for reflection on this new phase of life? Do you want to listen to your heart and determine well what you want?
